Many parents faced with anxiety when comes to potty training and I'm one of them. Faced with so many questions as to what should I do, how to and when to potty train my child. While there's no restrictions as to when to start, many toddlers will develop the necessary skills when they reach between 18 to 24 months old. However, some toddlers might not be ready till they are 4 years old. Here are some of the things you may notice when your child is ready for potty training:
Having regular bowel movements
Able to follow simple instructions such as come, sit
Dislike the feeling of being in a heavily soaked nappy
Able to sit and walk without help
Having their own terms for stool and urine, like poop, pee
Once all these are observed, you are on your way to start your first potty training. There's no magic as to how to train them, patient is the keyword for all parents. Choose a day when you are most relax and follow the below tips:
Get a suitable potty for your child, make sure it fits well and he can sit comfortably and stabilize himself.
Create a routine as to when he should sit on the potty. First start off with his pants on to get him used to the potty, make him sit there for at least few minutes. Once he is fine with the potty, try putting him on with his pants off. If he's afraid and not willing to sit on it, do not push it, just put away the potty and try again few days later.
Once he is used to the potty, it's time to ditch off those nappies. It's alright if they have to make a mess, accidents do happens.
You may want to explain the process to him by emptying the potty into the toilet bowl and flushing down the toilet.
Consistently encourage your child to do on the potty and reminds them to tell you when they need to go.
Don't get angry if your child make a mess but suggest to them to use the potty next time.
Before you know it they are on their way to diaper free! The sense of achievements are great and imagine the money you could save on diapers.
I have never gave a thought on baking my own bread to be honest until my parents got me a bread maker as a Christmas gift. To me it was more convenient to buy bread from a shop than to bake one myself. However, my life changed forever once I started using it.
It happened one day when my mom was asking me if I have tried the bread maker and not to disappoint her I told her, "Yes." And fearing that she would further asked me about it I quickly changed the topic. And that day I started looking through the instructions of the bread maker and to my surprised, this machine seems easy to use and it is equipped with so many functions. So the next day I bought all ingredients and tried on the machine for the first time and didn't stop since then.
Now even on my busiest days I can still relish the home made breads without the mess and with less efforts. Not only I can do bread with it, I can also do cakes and jams. I can set the crust to the desired colour and texture. There are so many things you can do with this machine even if you are amateur baker. The aromatic smell from the baking has never fail to lift up my spirit and best of all it's home made!
Been thinking of starting my own blog few years ago but never really manage to start one due to busy lifestyle and big part of it is caused by my lazy attitude towards writing. However, I've made myself a promise to start one and so this is it, sending my first post!
